Kanazawa: World Heritage Shirakawa-go Morning Guided Tour

1.World Heritage Shirakawa-go Morning Guided Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 988 reviews · 5 hours · from $77Our pick

Early, guided UNESCO Shirakawa-go day from Kanazawa with English support, audio headsets, local food tastings, then Kenrokuen Garden.

“Fantastic tour. Keita was super knowledgeable, friendly and made us feel comfortable. He made the experience feel tailored. We loved the whole tour and would highly recommend this! Beautiful town and gives Switzerland vibes. It’s great this tour starts early as tourists do come in around the arvo. Also just make sure you layer up if you are going in winter as it does get colder than the main Kanazawa areas. I do wish we had a little more time allocated as a few stores had queues. We ran out of time and couldnt check out the inside of the grass hut houses. You must try the higashi beef skewers…”

“Excellent trip to snowy Shirakawa-Go and a wonderful afternoon back in Kanazawa. The transport was warm and comfortable and the guide, Yasushi, a Kanazawa local, was fantastic. His English was excellent and he was very informative and friendly. There was a good amount of free time in Shirakawa-go (about 2.5 hours) and in the Higashi Chaya District (about 25 mins). Yasushi’s tour around Kenruoken Garden was vey interesting and the scenery was spectacular in the snow. A great tour - highly recommended.”

“Great organisation from go to whoa. Communication excellent, ticket exchange from email voucher prompt. Details where to meet clear. Best tour we’ve had so far in Japan. Plenty of time in both Gokayama & Shirakawago. There was a traffic jam so our bus went another way to get to the tour bus carpark. Excellent coordination. Guide & driver great. Lots of info from history to where to eat, route to take around Gassho houses & anything after if you wanted. Five star!!”
